Term 1 Reading Work from 2017

1.Why are wetlands important for our environment?
Because they bring life into this world and also because they protect our shores from wave action like floods and tsunamis.


2.What are some of the Nz bird species found around wetlands?
Blue ducks,brown tail,Pukeko.


3.How are our wetlands important to plants and animals?
Because they keep the animals alive and also help the plants grow, and then we can eat them.


Where are some of the wetlands located in Auckland?

Tomarata Lake,Ototoa,Tawharanui Regional Park,Wetlands and whatipu Dunes
